Swimrun: between running and swimming
The swimrun is a discipline of extreme endurance that mixes both running in the manner of a trail and swimming in open water. Swimrun or “ötillö” (literally “from island to island” in Swedish) was born from a simple challenge between friends to join two islands as quickly as possible. A few years later the enthusiasm for this “adventure” has spread and competitions have emerged with several formats of races throughout the world.
The whole trail takes place in a natural environment: paths, roads and seaside that give the competition its magical side. If we would like to simply summarize such a discipline, we would say that the participants run in swimwear and swim with their sneakers, the participants being required to keep all their equipment throughout the race.
A particularity of the discipline is that it is practiced in pairs. The swimrun thus promotes team spirit and cohesion. A nice way to rediscover nature in total respect with this one and share common values with other passionate sportspersons.

On this Sunday April 2, the next swimrun race will take place in an exceptional setting: the island of Hvar in Croatia. Teams from all over the world will have to swim 10.5km and to run 35km. The perfect opportunity to surpass itself, surrounded by turquoise waters!
