"Fifty people behind a computer, all working on the same Excel spreadsheet." That was the image Jeanne Pasquet-Desmaison, a safety and security engineer, had of engineering consultancy before joining agap2. Once on-site with a partner, a consultant's daily life is primarily built around the project. The teams on-site become the daily points of contact, while the agency can feel further away.

However, Jeanne found a way of working within the consultancy firm that suits her, out in the field, much like Stéphane Fernandez, a site coordinator for the past year and a half. Both explain how, in their own way, they remain involved in the life of their company, beyond their project work.

A role that goes beyond the client project

At the Patheon Thermo Fisher site, a pharmaceutical contract manufacturing company, Stéphane ensures compliance with standards, whether regulatory or specific to the partner. "I provide clarity on regulatory frameworks and industry best practices, and I support teams in their health, safety, and environmental initiatives," he summarises.

‍

As a site coordinator, Stéphane is the primary point of contact between agap2 and the partner. He ensures team cohesion and directs technical requests—a level of proximity he cultivates even from a distance. "I am currently providing technical support to a colleague at another site in Haute-Savoie, whom I am assisting with their project." Welcoming new arrivals follows the same logic, a personal habit he sums up as follows. "My door is always open and my phone is always on." A connection that is also supported by an organisation designed at agap2 to ensure that no one is left to fend for themselves at a partner's site.

‍

Jeanne plays an equally structural role in her projects. She verifies that they comply with current standards, whether they originate from the Nuclear Safety Authority or the International Atomic Energy Agency. "Safety is a safeguard. We protect the staff, the facilities, and the environment all at once," she explains. Before joining agap2, she knew almost nothing about the role of an engineering consultant. "I was offered the chance to join a project in the field, and that’s what convinced me."...
