From 5 to 7 November, Rotterdam hosted the 5th edition of the EAGE Global Energy Transition Conference & Exhibition (GET2024). This international event brought together nearly 1,500 professionals from a wide range of industrial sectors to explore key technologies for the energy transition, including CO2 capture and storage, geothermal energy, hydrogen, energy storage and offshore wind energy.
agap2, represented by Patrick Pires Conti, a research chemist specialising in decarbonisation, took an active part in this event. Our aim is to strengthen our expertise in CO2 capture and reuse solutions, identify partnership opportunities and support our internal research and development projects.
At this year’s event, Patrick attended a number of major conferences and workshops, including:
In addition to the conferences, agap2 held discussions with key stakeholders in the field, such as LookUp Geosciences, IFP Énergies nouvelles, TU Delft, TNO, Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) and Petrobras. These discussions helped to identify potential synergies to accelerate the development of concrete solutions for carbon capture and storage.
The event was also marked by inspiring technological demonstrations: start-ups presenting innovations in the underground storage of CO2, processes for converting CO2 into high added-value products (alcohols, fuels), and daring projects such as an aircraft powered entirely by hydrogen, developed by students at Delft University of Technology.
The energy transition calls for rapid, innovative solutions to the climate emergency. CO2, the main pollutant resulting from human activity, is central to these issues. At agap2, we are positioning ourselves as a key stakeholder, actively contributing to the creation of a technological and industrial ecosystem capable of meeting these challenges.
Our participation in GET2024 marks a key stage in our commitment. It reinforces our commitment to working with strategic partners and implementing solutions that turn environmental challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.
Join the adventure ! Together, let’s shape a low-carbon future.
Taking part in GET2024 was an enriching experience, providing an opportunity to discuss key advances in the energy transition with professionals from a variety of sectors. The network established at this event will be crucial for future agap2 projects. The scope and diversity of these conferences are proving to be real catalysts for technical exchanges and major scientific innovations.
