Specialising in the design of lines for the packaging industry, BOBST contacted agap2 to strengthen its engineering teams. Our consultant Ahmed, Project Engineer - Industrial Design, is involved from the earliest stages of the design process to transform customers’ specific needs into concrete technical solutions. Through his project, he illustrates agap2’s ability to support major industrial stakeholders in the success of their projects, from the study phase through to production start-up.
Ahmed: “I have been involved from the moment the contract was signed and the functional specifications drawn up. I’m responsible for transforming the customer’s specific needs into concrete studies and technical deliverables, which will serve as the basis for the manufacture of the production lines. This is a strategic role: every decision and every deliverable has an impact on compliance with milestones and the schedule, which are essential to ensure the smooth running of the project and to avoid any delays in delivery. In a way, I’m laying the foundations that will enable the whole team to work efficiently and guarantee customer satisfaction, while meeting the commercial and financial challenges of the project.”
Ahmed: “I’m part of the UPSTREAM engineering department (upstream work on the design and preparation of projects prior to production), which is responsible for the design and development of the functional modules positioned upstream of the production line manufacturing packaging. These modules are essential for transforming a simple sheet of cardboard into finished, ready-to-use packaging. This section of the line consists of:
Ahmed: “My job is to respond to specific customer requests, whether to integrate new options on FFG and DRO machines or to take into account particular functional requirements. I have to design appropriate technical solutions while ensuring their compatibility with external equipment such as ink dryers, tool holders or other functional components. Each intervention requires me to draw on the experience of my colleagues and to collaborate with all the peripheral services: Electricity-Automation design office, purchasing, methods, etc."
Ahmed: “By quickly adopting the working methods and the flow of technical data via PLM (Product Life cycle Management), I was able to deliver several projects in a very short space of time. This management is essential to ensure the technical consistency of the deliverables and guarantee the success of the project from start to finish.”
Ahmed : “This project is a real challenge, requiring strict adherence to the project planning milestones as well as consideration of a wide range of possible line configurations. Seeing customer needs transformed into concrete solutions and watching the production line come to life is what makes my job so interesting.”
This project is a perfect illustration of agap2’s commitment to providing experts capable of integrating into our customers’ teams, understanding their industrial challenges and transforming technical complexity into sustainable performance.
At agap2, every project is an opportunity to work together to build the more agile and innovative industry of tomorrow.
