Laponie Trophy 2025: a sporting challenge for a charitable cause
A unique race in the heart of Lapland
The Laponie Trophy is an extraordinary competition held every year in Finland. This all-women’s event brings together duos ready to take on three days of sporting challenges in extreme conditions, with temperatures as low as -30°C.
From 12 to 16 March, women engineers took up this intense challenge combining run & snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and other tests of their endurance and determination.
But beyond the physical performance, the Laponie Trophy stands out for its solidarity. Each duo competes for a charity of their choice, and the top three teams win a cheque for €500 to donate to their chosen cause.
More than just a competition, this race is a human adventure in which surpassing oneself and commitment come together under the Northern Lights.
Surpassing yourself to inspire
This adventure race in the wilds of Lapland, where participants push their physical and mental limits in extreme conditions, is marked by camaraderie and sharing which helps support charities while offering joy, encounters and the opportunity to excel oneself.
This race encourages participants to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves physically and mentally. Their aim: to prove that they are capable of tackling the most demanding challenges.
Louise and Léa: a winning duo supported by agap2
Among the teams taking part in 2025, Louise and Léa made their mark. Mechanical engineers and founders of WOMEN’gineers, they took up this challenge alongside agap2 to {3>promote the place of women in engineering<3} and encourage young girls to go into these professions.
They were brilliant throughout, taking first place in this year’s Laponie Trophy. Their victory means that they can donate the 500 euros to the Rêv’Elles association which supports young women from working-class backgrounds in their personal and professional development.
Louise “Back in France, this adventure seems almost unreal, so intense were the emotions. But today it gives me even more ambition, motivation and courage to take on ambitious new projects. Because yes, it is possible: we’ve done it!”
Léa “In the end, this adventure was much more than a physical challenge, it was a lesson in courage, solidarity and commitment. We come back proud of what we’ve achieved, with the certainty that we’ve pushed back invisible limits that we impose on ourselves without meaning to, and that we’ve made a small contribution to a great cause, by inspiring women to emancipate themselves through sport, studies and the causes that are close to their hearts.”
