10 years with agap2: Daniel, an example of employee loyalty
Celebrating 10 years of service is much more than just a professional anniversary. It’s about honouring commitment, loyalty and a history shared between an employee and their company.
In the consultancy sector, where annual staff turnover is around 25%, it is rare for employees to make a long-term commitment. agap2, we are fortunate to have talented people who have been with us for over 10 years, demonstrating their attachment to the company and our commitment to their development.
That’s why we shine the spotlight on those who shape our history every day. Today we’re celebrating an important milestone for Daniel, who is celebrating 10 years in the Agapian adventure. Since his arrival in 2015, he has developed and taken on many challenges.
To mark the occasion, he shares his career path, his memories and his prospects at agap2 with us in an interview. Discover the portrait of a loyal collaborator with a passion for his job!
What is your history at agap2?
D.R: I joined agap2 on 2 February 2015 at the Strasbourg agency for an assignment with a supplier of electrical solutions for residential, tertiary and industrial buildings. I’m still there, in the same department, in the same job. I only had a short interlude between October 2015 and June 2016 when I went to work for another customer in the Energy sector, before returning to the first customer where I started. Since then, I’ve been pursuing my adventure in the field of automation. I bring machines to life by integrating a programme to make them work. It’s an exciting, practical job, where every project is a new challenge.
Do you remember why you joined the Agapian adventure 10 years ago?
D.R: I remember that Aurélie, a Business Engineer, contacted me to offer me an assignment. I’d just come back from a professional experience in Germany, and what she offered me appealed to me straight away. It was in my region, in my field and the Agapian atmosphere convinced me. It was also my first experience as a consultant.
Do you have an anecdote to share with us?
D.R: Yes, and it’s quite funny. At my very first customer meeting, I arrived...sporting a black eye! It was nothing to do with a fight, I was attacked by my hoover at home a few days before. I lost my grip on the handle and I ended up with a black eye. A bit of make-up to cover it all up and I was good to go!
An unforgettable memory from an agap2 event?
D.R: All the events have an impact on me because they allow me to get away from my professional environment, to meet or catch up with colleagues and to exchange ideas in a different way. In my previous jobs, I’d never experienced this type of event. After-work parties, Christmas evenings, cruises or visits to chocolate factories... it all makes an impact!
If you had to sum up these 10 years in three words what would they be?
D.R:
- Challenge, because the job is demanding, technical and pushes me to solve complex problems within a given time frame.
- Joy, because I am deeply fond of what I do and you have to love your job to last this long.
- Well-being, thanks to the friendly atmosphere, meetings and human environment at agap2.
How would you describe your relationship with your managers?
D.R: I’ve had three managers: Aurélie, Elena and Paul. Each time, I always felt respected and listened to, and that they were genuinely available. Exchanges are simple and natural. When I need something, I know I can count on their responsiveness.
Any advice for someone new to agap2?
D.R: Be happy at work! It shouldn't feel like a chore - you spend a lot of time there. Surround yourself with colleagues with whom you can laugh, talk and bond. It’s this good-natured atmosphere that makes the days go by so much more smoothly and that, personally, have made me want to stay for 10 years.
How do you see the coming years at agap2?
As long as I can continue in these conditions, I’m staying. I feel good doing what I do. I always get a child-like thrill when I see a machine come to life.That’s what still motivates me today. I don’t need any big changes, just to carry on doing what I love.
How do you see agap2’s development in the last 10 years?
Despite staff turnover, agap2 has managed to keep its family atmosphere. There may be around sixty of us at the Strasbourg agency, but the spirit remains the same: warm, human and simple. That’s what makes me feel good there.
