Context and key issues
To meet growing global demand, Airbus is opening several new A320 assembly lines, including a new line in Mobile, Alabama. REEL, a specialist in lifting systems, handling, and integrated solutions, is responsible for duplicating and improving this assembly line. In this international project, mastering transatlantic logistics, material flows, and customs constraints is crucial for meeting installation deadlines and ensuring industrialization performance.
Management of the study, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the second A320 assembly line.
Supply and coordination of 4 assembly stations.
Logistical support provided by agap2 through our transport and logistics project management experts.
Management of the shipment of approximately 100 transatlantic containers and special transports (including air freight).
Client/supplier interface for logistics: packaging, documentation, planning, customs compliance.
Analysis and validation of logistics documentation and supplier packaging.
Coordination between REEL teams in France, Germany, Spain, Canada, and Airbus USA.
Securing international flows, ensuring the availability of equipment on site without schedule interruption.
Reduction of logistical risks through expert management of sea and air transport and customs formalities.
Improvement of assembly schedule reliability through continuous coordination between suppliers, freight forwarders, and multi-country teams.
Documentary and customs compliance ensured, limiting the risks of delays and cost overruns for US imports.
Accelerated Industrialization, thanks to a unique logistics interface integrated into the management of the REEL project.
